3.1 Recruitment and Enrollment Policies
3.2 Document Enrollment Procedures
The recruitment process for P-TECH will begin midway through the fall semester. The P-TECH team, in collaboration with business partners, will deliver campus presentations highlighting the unique features that distinguish P-TECH from other Early College High Schools in the district. Additional parent information sessions will be offered, with support from South Texas College during these events.
During the pre-registration period, students will have the opportunity to apply for enrollment in the P-TECH program. The application will collect all necessary identifying information and will not require supplemental materials such as essays or teacher recommendations.
If the number of applicants exceeds the available seats, the campus will conduct a performance-blind lottery to determine admission. Additional weight will be given to students identified as at-risk or from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Once the lottery is completed and the target enrollment number is met, selected students will be notified of their acceptance. A waiting list will also be generated from the lottery. If any accepted student declines admission, applicants on the waiting list will be offered a seat in the order their names were drawn. P-TECH Application
