Meet our Coaches: Guiding Us to Success!
Our PYPX mentors play a vital role in guiding and supporting us through our journey of inquiry, research, and action. With their expertise and encouragement, they help us develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. As we explore real-world issues and take meaningful action, our mentors provide valuable insights, helping us grow as independent and reflective learners.
A Warm Welcome to Our Coaches!
We took a moment to express our gratitude by writing heartfelt emails to our coaches, thanking them for being a part of our journey. This simple yet meaningful gesture not only strengthened our connection but also reminded us of the power of appreciation in building lasting relationships.
Our Meeting Minutes Document
Emphasizing choice, voice, and ownership, we selected areas of interest, voiced opinions, and took responsibility for creating the document. This process helped us create our own document, as well as gain a deeper understanding of our role in shaping the learning environment.
Organizing Meetings with Our Coaches
Each group has two coaches, and they met with our homeroom teachers to decide whether they preferred group meetings or one-on-one sessions. Once their preferences were set, we checked their availability and sent out meeting invitations accordingly. This process helped us streamline communication and prepare for insightful discussions with our coaches.
Moments in the Sandbox: A Living Canvas of Learning
One of the coaches unveiled the minutes in a truly enchanting and imaginative way. With grace and creativity, she empowered the learners to capture their reflections in the form of a vibrant sandbox on Padlet—a living tapestry of thoughts, ideas, and discoveries. This wasn’t just documentation; it was a canvas for curiosity, where each entry added a new hue to the collective understanding. The process, still unfolding, invites learners to return, revisit, and enrich their journey with deeper reflections. Like petals unfolding in a garden of growth, this ongoing endeavor celebrates voice, agency, and the beauty of learning together.
Exhibition + Coaches = A Powerful Team
As P5 learners, we're getting ready for one of the biggest and most exciting parts of our learning journey—the PYP Exhibition! There's so much to explore, reflect on, and take action about, and we’re glad we don’t have to do it all alone. We’re lucky to have amazing coaches supporting us along the way!
Our coaches help us stay focused, ask thoughtful questions, and guide us as we dive deeper into our inquiries. Whether we’re researching, organizing our ideas, or preparing to present, our coaches encourage us to think critically, reflect, and keep growing. Sometimes they challenge us to go further, and sometimes they help us slow down and see things more clearly.
It feels really good to have someone outside our classroom cheering us on, offering advice, and helping us shine. We get to share our ideas, learn from their experiences, and feel more confident about our work.
Having coaches during our Exhibition journey makes it even more meaningful. We’re learning how to collaborate, stay organized, and take ownership of our learning—with a supportive coach by our side.
We’re excited about what’s ahead—and so grateful for the amazing coaches who are helping us along the way!
