Course Completion Requirements

This course provides 40 hours of instruction in essential real estate topics required of all applicants for a broker license in Massachusetts. The course prepares learners for the Massachusetts licensing exam and provides the practical business knowledge and foundation necessary to be a successful real estate salesperson in Massachusetts. Topics include real estate licensing laws and regulations, ethical standards, basic principles of real estate, real estate agency and contracts, real estate financing principles and practices, and real estate valuation. Note: Some sections of this course are offered only when the instructor is available to support students online.

The following requirements must be met in order for the course to be considered complete.

  • Course content must be 100% complete.

  • Seat time is NOT mandated; however we strongly encourage spending at least the recommended amount of time working with course content prior to attempting the final course exam.

  • State and National practice exams must be passed with 70% or better. Unlimited attempts are allowed. There are two exams: One state and one national.

  • The final step in the process is to complete the digital signature / identification process. The certificate of completion will NOT be issued until this is complete.

  • Course expiration date is 6 months. The stamped course completion form is good for two years.

The course system will log the time spent and course progress. Where required by state rules, the course will not be considered "complete" until the required time is met.
