90.00% - 100% = A
80.00% - 89.99% = B
70.00% - 79.99% = C
60.00% - 69.99% = D

Exams: There will be 3 exams and a final exam. To prepare, students should review the assigned reading, homework questions, lecture notes, and Practice Exams. Exams will be proctored in the classroom during lecture hours. Exams may be given early to students if the circumstances warrant. Please see me at least one week before the scheduled exam date if you wish to take an exam early. Make-up exams will NOT be allowed. Hence, you must be aware of the exam dates. Please remember that there are NO dropped exams in this course. Thus, a missed exam counts as a zero.
Exam #1: Sections 1.1~2.5, Appendix A (~wk 5)
Exam #2: Sections 3.1~4.7 (~wk 11)
Exam #3: Sections 5.1~6.4 (~wk 14)
Final Exam: May 22nd (Wednesday) During the class time. (Final Exam is cumulative, Ch.7 included)
*Note: Failure to take the final exam will result in a letter grade of F in this course.
Homework is designed as practice and a key may be provided for you to check your own work. Practice writing the homework out with the notation shown in class. It is much better for your understanding of the concepts to stay on top of the homework; budget time each day to study and/or review. Sometimes, homework will take less time and more time could be spent reviewing the concepts. Homework is designed as practice.
We will be using a computer program called Octave. Octave is a free version of Matlab. You can buy a student version Matlab, and use that instead of Octave if you wish. You can download and install Octave on your own computer if you wish.
