Humorous, Serious, Dramatic & Poetry Interpretations - The speaker shares from the following: a story, essay, poetry, diary, play, or an autobiography in an eight-minute speech. Different criteria apply to each type of piece, but each must include a self-written introduction.
Storytelling - The speaker selects a story from varying genres and prepares for a memorized seven-minute performance of the story.
Humorous & Serious Duos - Two speakers perform an eight-minute humorous or serious piece. It has to have at least 2 distinct roles.
Impromptu Speaking - The speaker is given two quotes and must select one. They have seven minutes to prepare and deliver a speech based on that quotation.
EPR - The speaker receives either a serious, humorous, or poetry piece and has one hour to cut the piece down and prepare it into a seven-minute speech with an introduction.
Extemporaneous Speaking - The speaker draws three questions, chooses one, and has an hour of preparation to answer and prepare a seven-minute speech.
Radio - The speaker receives international, national, state, and local news along with sports weather and has 30 minutes to cut it. They perform it, while sitting, along with a pre-written commentary.
Persuade - The speaker writes a speech on a chosen topic trying to convince the listeners to agree.
Inform - The speaker writes a speech about a chosen topic and the goal is to inform the listeners. This event can include a visual aid.
Entertain - The speaker performs a piece they have written. The story must have a purpose and be humorous in nature.
