💻 SHARED NOTES

Dr. Scott's Communication and Language Matters

In this session, you will have the opportunity to share your voice and experience with healthcare professionals. You will also be able to hear from them about the ways they are working to grow and continue to support you when it comes to communication and language. Come understand the process of communication across cultures and the role of language in supporting shared meaning across various communities.

Dr. Thompson's CLAS Standards

Each health space has a set of standards that they work to achieve. These standards help ensure that everyone has a great experience when they go to see a healthcare professional. Come learn about the standards and how you can advocate for yourself and your health. These standards are called CLAS (Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services) Standards and they help us address health disparities within the Black community and beyond.
