Theatre Course Description:


Theatre 1 students will learn about and develop acting style and voice through theatre games, improvisation, pantomime, and learning vocabulary. Students will also experience and learn how to incorporate dramatic interpretation and script analysis into their characterization and performance. Theatre History is also a very important aspect of Theatre 1. Students will understand how theatre began and evolved throughout Europe and then identify the influences on American Theatre today. Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to explore careers in theatre and perform monologues, duet acting scenes, small group acting scenes. FInally, students will write a resume and experience the audition process.
