February 3rd is curriculum night where parents can attend at East Ridge High School at 5:30pm.
LMHS counselors will be here at Minneola Charter School on March 5, 2026. They will speak to the students who are zoned for LMHS to introduce themselves, and share important high school transition information, and then assist students with selecting their courses for next year while answering any questions they may have. Students who are zoned for LMHS are required to attend. If you are putting in for an Educational Choice Transfer to LMHS, your child not be able to attend LMHS presentation.. Students can only go to their zoned high school presentation. If a student transfers to LMHS via ECT the high school must let Minneola Charter know that that child is registered for them for grade 9.(this must come directly from the school itself) After that , Minneola Charter will get the records ready to go to the correct school. Historically ECT waiver acceptances come to parents in May, which is a long time after the high school counselors come to visit MCS. When accepted to LMHS via ECT, parents should contact the high school directly to get information about scheduling.
Please note students choose their classes in FOCUS with the high school counselors. The high school counselors handle the course choices directly with students. Most high school counselors will speak to parents if they email them with questions. Minneola Charter School does not work with the students on high school schedules.
To assist our 8th graders, Mrs. Burns does a presentation to the 8th graders at the end of January, so the students should be familiar with the high school curriculum and high school processes. Mrs. Burns usually will send that important information to parents via FOCUS, Google Classroom, Newsletter or School Website. If you have any questions about the high school schedule, you will have to contact the high school.

An Educational Choice Transfer (ECT) provides an opportunity for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade to attend a traditional Lake County Public School outside of their assigned attendance zone as long as the school has not reached capacity and the parent can provide transportation. The 2025-26 school year has a change for applications for ECT. This should be completed through FOCUS. Links are provided for the School Choice website and instructions on how to complete an application via FOCUS. Please contact the Lake County School’s Office if you have questions.
