The following are frequent questions and concerns regarding counseling professionals.
I currently offer individual counseling for teens, adults, and the aging population.
The majority of my experience is treating substance use concerns. I also offer counseling for anxiety, depression, coping skills, self esteem, life transitions, and career concerns.
I use a variety of interventions including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, Gestalt techniques, and motivational interviewing. I take an individualistic person centered approach. In this I realize that a person is the whole of their parts and their experiences have shaped them to be the person they are presently. Thus, I am integrative and eclectic in my practice and use aspects from multiple techniques with each client as needed.
Currently, I charge $50 per individual session.
I offer a free 15 minute consultation for prospective clients. If we feel like we are not a good fit for each other, I will provide referrals to you.
I currently accept cash and cards for payment. Payment will be collected at the beginning of each session unless other arrangements have been made.
I do not take insurance for multiple reasons:
As an ALC many insurance companies will not accept me as a service provider.
I am further attempting to protect your confidentiality.
Insurance companies can have many of their own reasons to deny or limit care based on deductibles and session count limits.
For a more detailed understanding of my fees please see the Informed Consent document on the Forms page.
I offer both telehealth and in office services. Currently, I only offer counseling services to clients in Alabama. Telehealth clients must be physically in Alabama during sessions.
