Planning for Transition - A Lunchtime Conversation for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Families

Learn about all the pieces of transition to adulthood for teens with disabilities, including long-term support programs, employment, SSI benefits, and life in the community.

In March, we will focus on Guardianship - the process and required training.

We will cover:

• The steps families take when petitioning for guardianship of a young adult

• The responsibilities of a guardian and what rights can be retained by the person under

guardianship

• How to access the state-sponsored required training and what topics it explains

When: Wed. March 18, 12:00 to 12:45pm
