International Baccalaureate and Gifted & Talented
International Baccalaureate (IB)
International Baccalaureate (IB) is an internationally-recognized and accredited educational framework that highlights inquiry-based learning, global contexts, educational attainment, and cross-cultural understanding. Examples of known IB Programs in the District include Rufus King and Ronald Reagan High Schools and Stuart Elementary.
Gifted and Talented (G&T)
Gifted and Talented (G&T) is the lens through which we ensure that all students’ passions, abilities, and interests are developed and honored. There are five categories of Gifted and Talented - general academic, specific academic area, artistic thinking, creative thinking, and leadership; we believe that all students bring a variety of Gifts and Talents to the table. In order to support our students’ Gifts and Talents, we offer a wide range of class offerings, groups, clubs, sports, interventions, and services that ensure no student’s capabilities or interests are unseen.
Gifted and Talented Services
If referred by family or staff, students will be considered for Gifted and Talented Services. This would entail your student being pulled-out for two periods, monthly, to work on projects with like-minded peers who share their Gifts and Talents, culminating in social actions, presentations, and writings.
*If families are interested in Gifted and Talented Services, please contact Counselor Mr. Crossot at crossocm@milwaukee.k12.wi.us for an application. All applications will be considered, though completion of an application does not guarantee admittance to Gifted and Talented Services*
