As the end of the school year draws near, teachers in grades K-8 should complete the teaching and assessing of all standards in each content area. By the end of the year, each of the parent (umbrella) standards should have been graded at least once on the standards-based report card.
Based on state statute, teachers of grades 4 and 8 must follow the student promotion process (SPS). After grades are posted in, teachers will apply the 50% or more rule for the last marked grade.
The same process that is used in Infinite Campus to post report card scores will be used to post a Yes or NO for each student in reading, English language arts, math, science, and social studies. Please see updated regular and Montessori SPS processes.
Students cannot be retained if there has been no intervention provided or there has been no ongoing communication with the families following the Retention Protocol.
