This course is designed to be the equivalent of a college-level course. Students learn about European history (1450-present) through analysis, research and inquiry. Some units of study include the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution and post-World War II cold war. The course examines cultural, economic, political and social developments that played a fundamental role in shaping the world, such as the Renaissance era, the Industrial Revolution and the Cold War. The focus of instruction is on critical thinking skills and historical analysis. Prerequisite: Students enrolled must pass Modern World Cultures. All students enrolled in AP classes are required to take the AP exam in May. Please note: there is a required summer assignment for this course.
