In this course, students will continue to develop their understanding of computer science by following a demanding college-level curriculum that aligns to the CollegeBoard’s AP Computer Science A syllabus. AP Computer Science A is an introductory college-level computer science course. Students cultivate their understanding of coding through analyzing, writing, and testing code as they explore concepts like modularity, variables, and control structures. AP Computer Science A focuses on computing skills related to programming in Java. All students enrolled in this course are required to complete a summer assignment and take the May AP exam. This course satisfies the graduation requirement for Technology. *If you have not completed one of the prerequisite classes you can complete an alternative project.
Students enrolled in this course will be required to complete a summer assignment and take the AP exam and, upon successful completion, can apply the credits toward satisfying the Technology graduation requirements.
