The topic of this edition of Trending Apps is "VSCO". Although the only thing you may know about VSCO is the term "VSCO Girl", thats not what VSCO is all about. VSCO is short for Visual Supply Company: Photo & Video Editor. VSCO is a collection of photos that you and others post, kinda similar to Instagram, but has some different features.
VSCO is an app where you can take photos on the app and publish them onto your VSCO account. VSCO is made up of photos of things- from people, nature, flowers, and various other things. There really is a very wide variety of pictures that someone has taken, or that you have taken yourself and published. On the App you can look at other peoples posts, and get inspiration. Some features that makes VSCO different from other social media apps are,
-You can not comment or like peoples posts
-People can't comment or like your posts
-A feature called DSCO, similar to a mini video
The VSCO Camera is just like your phone camera. The only difference is you can apply filter to your photos or DSCOs.
DSCO is a feature on VSCO where you can take a 3 second video. You can apply color filters and or gradients to your DSCO and upload.
Your VSCO Feed will show you the posts that people have posted, but only people that you follow on n the app (VSCO). To get to your feed you have to press the icon in the left hand corner.
Any posts on your feed that you may encounter and like, you can either star it and it will be added to your favorites, which only you can see, or you can repost it and it will be added to your collection, something that is public and other people and see on your account.
The Discover page Is the Second icon at the bottom of the VSCO app. It is a page that VSCO has made to show users some of the posts that VSCO has found impressive, and wants to show you. Here is a picture and some examples.
Your studio is filled with pictures that have not yet been uploaded onto your VSCO account. These pictures are called "drafts" To get to the Studio page, click on the middle button all the way on the bottom of your screen.
To get to your account press on the fourth icon on the bottom of your screen. On your account you can see everything that you have posted in the gallery.
If you would like to keep a VSCO Journal you can do so by clicking on the middle icon titled journal, and press "Create a Journal"
If you would like to look at your collection, the posts that your friends and yourself have reposted, press the button on the right called "collection" . There you can see the posts you have Collected.
Your VSCO Account comes with some cool features including,

-Basic Editing Tools
-10 presets(filters)
Although VSCO is a free app, and you can have a free account, if you would like VSCO offers a feature called VSCO Membership. A VSCO Membership is an upgrade on the VSCO app that unlocks exclusice presets(filters) and tools. Some of the features that the VSCO Membership offers is,
- complete library of 200+ presets
-Advanced photo and video editing
-Weekly photo challenges
-Exclusive educational content.
A VSCO membership costs 19.99 USD annually.
So how do you create a VSCO account? First, you'll need to download the app off of your devises app store. The app stores that support downloading VSCO are, The App Store, Google Play, and The Samsung Galaxy Store. Then after the download, click on the app and create an account using, either Facebook, Google, Phone Number, Email, or sign in using an existing account. (As shown below
You then enter your information depending on what option you choose. If you choose to create an account with Phone Number, You will need to Verify your Phone Number with a code. If you choose to create an account using Email you will need to verify your email by logging into your email account and pressing verify email in the email VSCO sent you. Thats it! You now have create your account and can start to and post and explore!
VSCO has started alot of trends, while being a trend itself. One of the trends VSCO has started is "VSCO girls" The VSCO girl trend started the summer of 2019. Starting in the app it grew and now is part of peoples fashion choices.
