Honk. Why, hello there. Perhaps you know me, for I am Gerald.
I am the best gander to ever flap wing.
For. I. Am. A. MAN!
The park attendees call me a “nuisance” and a “hazard to children” but I know that I am just as good as them.
Just the other day a small boy kicked me. I hissed, and when he refused to quit, I bit him.
Serves him right.
I ate a bad almond once when I was a young gosling, and I was never the same. I saw the darkness in this cruel, cruel world.
If so perfect a legume could be so horribly twisted, how evil this world must be! What could become of grass? Seeds? The wonder that is bread?!
No. I could not bear to witness the evil, so I BECAME the evil!

Sam couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He was desperately seeing where these monsters where and what they were... Aliens? demons? mutants? Who knows? He got out his phone and began typing, trying to see where they appeared in England. He found an article, quickly skimming it to see where. York. That’s not far from here. A chill ran down his spine, thinking about what he could do. Run? No, there are too fast. Nothing? Definitely not. Hide? That’s seems like the best bet. He couldn’t just hide in the basement though.
Sam liked to do wood work, so he had plenty of materials to work with down there. He went in the garage, grabbing as many planks as possible. He made quick work of the windows and doors, boarding them up as fast as he could. Thankfully, he was lucky to get a house with a tornado shelter. So he got as much food his arms would let him, along with water bottles and a cooler. He got his phone and phone charger, he needed communication after all. He shut off all the lights, and went into his shelter.
He waited for what felt like hours, every breath he took in the dark shaking.
Sam was smart enough to bring a gun, even if he doubted its usefulness, but then he heard something that made him jump. His phone.
This is an emergency warning to everyone in the Scarborough area. Follow instructions given if you wish to survive.
Sam began breathing heavily.
Lock all doors and windows, and any other entry point. If possible, add extra fortifications. Shut off all lights and electronic devices. Do not investigate any noise from outside. Stay in a secure area. Do not go outside. Stay in groups. Only go outside if a person or creature that you do not recognize enters your home. If outdoors, get inside as soon as possible.
If you see any living being you don’t recognize, do not investigate, or let them spot you. If a loved one goes outside,
Do not look for them.
Sam was shaking at this point. Why was this happening? Will everyone be ok? ...will I be ok? Silence. Sam heard strange noises from above him. He heard cracking, and then a crash. He heard the door open. Footsteps. Sam grabbed his gun from and pointed it at the door. The footsteps went from the front door to the living room. Each step came down heavy. From the living room to the kitchen. Strange voices in a language he didn’t know. From the kitchen to the stairway. Faint breathing. Stairway to basement. Growling. Basement to shelter door. ...The door opened.
