Using a planner helps strengthen important executive functioning skills, such as organization, time management, planning, remembering responsibilities, and completing tasks. Your planner will help you keep track of assignments, prepare for upcoming deadlines, and create a daily homework routine.
Using a permanent marker, write the following information clearly on the front cover:
Your first and last name
Your grade
Your team
Labeling your planner will make it easier to return if it is lost.
To make your planner a useful tool, you are expected to:
Bring it to every class, every day.
Write the date for each entry.
Copy the homework or important reminders from each class.
Record upcoming tests, quizzes, projects, and due dates.
Take your planner home each day.
Use it to guide your homework routine.
Check off assignments as you complete them.
Your planner will only help you if you use it consistently. Make it part of your daily routine at school and at home.
