Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences
The Uniformed Services University (USU) Division 19 chapter has been awarded the Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award for their exceptional engagement and impact over the past year. The chapter consistently provided valuable opportunities for its members, hosting at least one activity per month. The USU chapter's calendar was packed with a variety of events, including monthly "Brown Bag Lunches" with esteemed military psychologists and workshops on topics like internship applications and CV writing. They also coordinated social events, a book club with Dr. Mark Staal, and an IRB workshop in collaboration with Psi Chi.
Beyond campus, the chapter made a significant impact on the broader community. They participated in Wreaths Across America at Arlington Cemetery, toured the National Museum of Health and Medicine, and hosted a year-end social for camaraderie and networking. The chapter was also well-represented at the 2025 Military Psychology Summit and had five members attend the APA Convention. The USU chapter will use the accompanying awarded funds to enhance member experiences and recognize guest speakers and outstanding students with challenge coins. A portion of the funds will also support events like their upcoming third annual summer book club review, featuring Dr. Xenakis and his book, Preventing and Treating the Invisible Wounds of War (Sep 10, please feel free to join the discussion!).
Your school could win up to $500! Applications open 01MAY and close 28MAY. Recipients are announced 01JUN.
