Welcome to the Year 9 Options Information Site
You will find information videos and documents for each of the compulsory and optional subjects we offer. Optional subjects have been placed into 3 blocks, with pupils picking 1 subject from each block. The options blocks are shown below, with links to pages with the information for each subject. Please browse the range of subjects available and watch the videos before making any decisions.
When your child has made their decisions they will need to complete the options form. This has also been emailed to each pupil.
Teachers will be available in the rooms highlighted next to each subject during the Options Event on Thursday 6th March 2025 between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.

Practical Engineering can only be selected once, i.e. you cannot pick Wood and Metal.
You cannot choose the same subject in multiple blocks.

MADE-FOR-WALES QUALIFICATIONS
As part of the WJECs co-construction approach to the development of a new suite of GCSEs and related qualifications, they are committed to offering channels to collect constructive feedback and insight from a range of valued stakeholders.
They work closely with stakeholders from across Wales and beyond throughout their qualification development process. Collecting and reviewing the opinions and insight offered by their stakeholders is an integral part of their approach. They consider the views of a wide range of specialists including educationalists, unions, government departments, learners and much more.
