Milford’s Community Internship will provide students with the opportunity to become productive and responsible citizens of the 21st century. The internship program will enable students to extend their learning beyond the school while offering an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to career exploration in an area of personal interest. The mission of the Milford Public Schools is to foster academic and personal excellence. To this end, we join the school, home, and community to cultivate skills, attitudes, and talents that will prepare our graduates not only to succeed in college and careers, but also to become informed, responsible citizens who respect diversity, value lifelong learning and lead fulfilling lives.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Seniors will begin an internship that will begin early May. Students will submit a completed application packet that will be reviewed and final admittance to the program will be determined by an Intern Selection Committee.  Consent from parents will be required. Interns will complete a total of 90 hours over a four week period on site, and time will be logged. A daily journal will be kept and submitted to the internship advisor. Participants must communicate with their advisor weekly. Weekly journal writing, meeting of deadlines, and a final presentation will serve as assessments for internship.
