BATTLE of the BOOKS - GOOGLE FORM
Please fill out this Google form with your team members. You can have three to four members on each team and they must all be on the same color team. You should all have the same ELA teacher. Each member is responsible for reading at least two books.
Battle of the Books is a voluntary competition that involves a team of 3-4 students reading books between now and May. Teams will compete in a fun and fast-paced trivia challenge based on the books they have read.
Students will compete in their teams to answer questions about the books they read at our school-based competition. It's a chance to show off your reading skills and work together with your teammates. You can check the Battle of the Books out separately or read them with our monthly book club.

No, but they need to be on the same color team. Students can form teams with students from different ELA classes, but they MUST be on the same color team. It will be Blue Team vs. White Team.
Teams need to be created before winter break. If you need help finding a team please reach out to Mrs. Caggiano at ccaggiano@milforded.org.
There is a list of six books. Members of the team can read all the books or each member of the team can read two to three books. It's up to your team to decide who will be responsible for what books.
You’ll have to do much of your reading at home. You may be able to do some reading in class during independent reading time or ASA. As we get closer to the competition your team can meet and check in with each other in the media center during our weekly book club meetings or during ASA.
At these meetings or at home, you can prepare by: memorizing the titles, authors on the list, writing down key facts from the book (main characters, plot, problem, solution, etc.), and sharing information about the books you read with your teammates.
