Charlotte Volk

Hi! I'm a PhD student in Computer Science at McGill and Mila, co-supervised by Blake Richards and Shahab Bakhtiari. My interests lie broadly in NeuroAI and human learning processes, and I work on biologically inspired learning algorithms. Right now, I’m working on developing predictive coding algorithms that are more closely mapped to cortical microcircuits and can process complex data modalities.

Before joining the LiNC Lab, I completed my undergraduate degree at McGill, with a major in Bioengineering and a minor in Computer Science.  My previous research was at the SNAIL lab at UdeM, studying the effects of curriculum learning on visual learning generalization. I was supervised by Shahab Bakhtiari and Christopher Pack.

In my free time, I love to read, figure skate, and crochet.
