Catering Service team

We are currently creating a menu that pairs with our own signature cocktails to satisfy any palate across different cultures. Until we get this project out to the public, we’re gladly working with different catering companies by providing the physical labor. They deliver the food, and we take care of serving the food and cleaning up afterwards. We do not provide the catered food-- yet.

Our catering service team offers the labor needed prior, during, and after the event. Our servers, floor helpers, and kitchen pros are trained to work efficiently with meals made at home or food delivered by caterers. Our catering service team is well-organized, and all members are friendly experts in customer service.

Their presentation includes a black tray with non-slip surface, black service gloves, hair net, proper company uniform, and non-slip shoes.

Food server job description

They are responsible for:

Carrying food platters and appetizers to tables and serving non-alcoholic beverages.
If the client does not have a bartender and opts to serve pre-made alcohol drinks, the reception server will be in charge of pouring and serving.
At the end of the shift, the reception server is responsible for disposing of tableware and glassware, either in trash or taken to the kitchen for washing. They will remove trash from the reception room only.

They are not responsible for:

Kitchen or bar clean up.
Bringing bar drinks to tables or guests.
Carrying any items brought by clients or guests (such as food, cooking utensils, bottles, etc.) to or from the clients' cars or catering service cars before or after the event.

Standard kitchen helper job description

This type of service is optimal for venues or halls

They are responsible for:

Setting up the buffet area, pouring water into each tray, and starting the fuel.
Replenishing the food line, napkins, and silverware as well as preheating any cooked meals.
Maintaining a clean serving area and helping serve food on plates if a buffet is not on the agenda.
Helping distribute plates to each table.

Helping clean up only the kitchen or food area by storing the leftover food in to-go containers and disposing of the trash.

They are not responsible for:

Looking over the food while it is being cooked.
Helping catering companies set up. If catering companies are serving throughout the event, then catering companies should provide their own staff for service such as serving appetizers and meals.
Carrying food inside the party establishment brought by client/guest or catering company.

Washing any cooking tools or utensils, including glassware.
Cake cutting and cake distribution.
Carrying any items brought by clients or guests (such as food, cooking utensils, bottles, etc.) to or from the clients' cars or catering service cars before or after the event.

The pro kitchen helper job description

This type of service is optimal for house parties, clubhouses, and venues.

They are responsible for:

Setting up the buffet area by placing foods in each tray, pouring water into each tray, and starting the fuel.
Replenishing the food line, including napkins and silverware, as well as preheating any pre-cooked meals.
Keeping the buffet area or serving area clean.
Serving food on plates if the buffet line is not on the agenda, but they will not be in charge of plate distribution.
Watching over the food/s that are being cooked.
Helping clean up the kitchen or food area only, by storing leftover food in containers and disposing of the trash.
Washing any cooking tools or utensils, including plates and glassware.
Cake cutting and distribution.
Carrying any items brought by clients or guests (such as food, cooking utensils, bottles, etc.) to or from the clients' cars or catering service cars before and after the event.

They are not responsible for:

Helping catering companies set up, if catering is serving throughout the event. Catering companies should provide their own staff for setting up appetizers and meals.

Bussers job description

They are responsible for:

Preparing the event setting, such as restocking napkins, straws, and other items.
Cleaning up during the event and after the guests have finished their meals.
Cleaning the tables, clearing any leftover plates and utensils, and carrying glassware to the kitchen for washing.

They are not responsible for:

Sweeping or mopping; they are only responsible for taking the trash bags to the dumpster.
Washing glassware.
Carrying any items brought by clients or guests (such as food, cooking utensils, bottles, etc.) to or from the clients' cars or catering service cars before or after the event.

How do you determine the quantity of staff members needed for an event/party?

For optimal customer service, we recommend

* Waitstaff (this includes servers and bussers)

1 server/busser for every 2 tables to serve a three or four course meal, not serving more than 16 guests.

1 server/busser for every 10 guests for faster service.

1 server/busser per table for more formal meals and/or to serve VIP tables serving no more than 10 guests.

2 servers/bussers per table for formal occasions serving no more than 10 guests.

1 standard kitchen helper to set up 1 double-sided buffet for 75-100 people, and use 1-2 helpers to keep it replenished.

1 pro kitchen helper for 50-60 guests.
