Entries in to Mīharo by 5pm Friday 4th August- Week 3, Term 3
We have an exhibition coming down on Thursday 4th,
so art can only be dropped off on Friday 4th August.

ART EXHIBITION CATEGORIES
Māori Culture and Heritage Award
This can include traditional and/or contemporary Māori materials, practices and processes.
Awards given for Early Childhood, Primary Year 1-6, Secondary School 7-13
Pacific Culture and Heritage Award
This can include traditional and/or contemporary Pasifika materials, practices and processes.
Awards given for Early Childhood, Primary Year 1-6, Secondary School 7-13
Kaitiaki Award
This award is for a creation that shows an understanding of guardianship and protection of our environment. Consider sustainability of taonga and how we can preserve and protect our natural resources for future generations.

Innovation Award
This award is for a creation that encompasses innovative ideas. This could include using innovative methods, applications, materials, concepts and perspectives.

Whanaungatanga Award
The creation has reached outside the walls of the centre/kindergarten to involve community, whānau, experts, agencies and the tamariki in the development of the artwork.

Aspiring Artist Award
This is an award for an individual entry. This recognises an outstanding piece of art and an artist who shows promise.

Mīharo Supreme Art Award
Outstanding concepts and execution. This piece has the potential to start conversations or cause people to think, question or inquire.

Digital Excellence Award
This award celebrates the innovation and creativity of ICT based applications and initiatives.

Entries need to include a completed label

Details: Awards and Exhibition Opening Thursday 10th August 6pm.
The formal prizegiving will take place at the SIT Centrestage Theatre, 33 Don Street, Invercargill, from 6pm.
We will then make our way across the road to Mīharo to officially open the exhibition.
Prize winners will receive an email invitation at the completion of judging.
Entries are to be collected at the end of the exhibition from Mīharo date : TBC
While there are no size restrictions, we do need to consider transportation, storage and display.
Please contact elisapeta@miharo.org if you are thinking of creating a large piece so we can work through the logistics with you.
*Judges decisions are final.
