At Midwest Psychiatric Services I have relished my role in psychiatric medication management since 2006 across various settings, including inpatient, consultation liaison services, partial hospital programs, university environments, and addiction services. I feel comfortable managing most every psychiatric condition. My primary experience, however, has been in the outpatient setting for several years. The rise of telehealth has enhanced the flexibility of service delivery, making medication management even more gratifying. I take pleasure in working with patients to achieve diagnostic clarity as a precursor to medication discussions. Addressing the unique symptoms that individuals experience is the crux of my practice. I find fulfillment in navigating the complexities of symptom management through medication, offering patients choices throughout this journey. I believe in educating patients about their options, weighing the pros and cons, but ultimately, they are the primary decision-makers. I often say to my patients, "You are the captain of this ship; I am merely the navigator," ensuring safe and reasonable options to steer clear of the icebergs. My ultimate objective in mental health care is to empower patients to attain optimal health, enabling them to pursue their passions in life. On a personal note, I enjoy skiing, CrossFit, biking, relaxing lakeside at the family cabin, roasting my own coffee beans, and cherishing moments with my two daughters, my wonderful wife, and our pampered Frenchie.
