At Park Hill Elementary, we have a lot of students who walk or ride their bikes home. When we dismiss, these students have two locations within the building they are to report to where one of our staff members will greet them. These staff members will then escort those students to our campus boundary. At the campus boundary, it is the parent's responsibility to communicate with children what your family plan is to ensure they get home safely.
*Important Notice: We do not allow parents to congregate around our buidling, so it is important to determine a place off campus where you and your child will meet.
Make sure your child has a safe route before allowing him or her to walk to school.
Always cross at a crosswalk.
Avoid dashing out between cars.
Do not cross the street alone if you are younger than 10 years old.
Stop at the curb before crossing the street.
Walk, don’t run, across the street.
Look LEFT, RIGHT and LEFT again before crossing.
Walk facing traffic.
Make sure drivers see you before crossing in front of them.
Do not play in driveways, parking lots or unfenced yards by the street.
Cross at least 10 feet in front of a school bus.
