Discipline Plan: 

This classroom discipline plan allows every student to have the opportunity to make positive decisions about his or her behavior. Your child deserves the best educational climate possible for his or her educational growth. I know that working together will make a difference in this process. The classroom discipline plan below outlines our class rules, positive recognition, and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.

Each class period, every student has two tallies marked on their desk. If a student is being disruptive in any way- yelling out, talking to the people around them, out of their seat, disrespectful- a tally will be erased from their desk. If the two tallies get erased and the behavior continues, the student will be removed from the classroom and sent to Mr. Leavell or Ms. Kopac to finish their work. If a student is unable to complete their work, it will be graded as is and marked in PowerSchool that the student was removed from class due to behavior problems. Two new tallies will be rewritten for the next class period. 

Depending on the severity of the behavior and the amount of times the student is removed from the classroom, the student may be written up for an after school detention. If behavior continues, the student may be suspended as we will follow the district's handbook for discipline referrals. 

To encourage following our classroom rules, I will recognize appropriate behavior with praise and encouragement, Happy Mail, Shout Outs, recess (indoor/ outdoor), classroom parties, and prizes!
