Student Athletic Training Aides

The student athletic training aide program is ideal for students who want to be involved in athletics or want to pursue a career in a healthcare field. As a student athletic training aide you will learn basic first aid, rehabilitation of injuries, taping techniques, emergency management, and recognition of injury. You will also be eligible to receive community service hours.

Student athletic training aides will always work directly with the Athletic Trainer and/or the team physicians. Aides will be permitted to perform basic first aid tasks. You can learn by observing the athletic trainer and, in down time, you can practice whatever skills are of most interest to you.

As athletic trainers are expected to be knowledgeable at all levels of injury you will have the opportunity to learn the emergency and evaluation side of injury, and you can also learn the rehabilitation and return to play side of injury.

If you wish to become a student athletic training aide please see Ms. Adair in the athletic training room.
