Make - Up Policy

MAKE-UP POLICY

If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what

you missed by checking Google Classroom, asking a friend or e-mailing me.

Making-up Assignments and/or Assessments from when you were absent:

Homework

The number of days that you are absent is the amount of days you have to make up your homework and classwork. Example: If you are absent for two days, you will have two days from the day you return to submit the assignment. You will not be asked for the missing assignment(s), so please remember to turn in all of your work (online and/or on paper) as soon as possible so you can receive full credit.

Please turn in your work in the cubby in the back of the classroom

Assessments (Tests and Quizzes)

It is your responsibility to get the notes on the material that was taught while you were absent. You will not be excused from new material on any assessment. If you are unsure about any of the material, please reach out to Mrs. DeGennaro for guidance.

If you are absent the day of a quiz/test:

You will take your quiz/test the next day you return back to school. If you are absent for multiple days and feel you are not ready to take the assessment the day you return back to school, reach out to Mrs. DeGennaro so we can figure out what day and time you can make up your assessment. You will see a 0% on Parent Portal until you make up your assessment.

If you are absent the day before a test, but will be present the day of the test:

You may email me prior to the test day requesting not to take the test on the scheduled test day. From that email, we will discuss alternative plans based on your situation. Please know that you may still be asked to take it on the scheduled day. If you do not email me this request, you will take the test on the scheduled day. (Quizzes will be taken on the day it is scheduled)

If you are present for the day before the test and for the test day but were absent another day(s) during the week:

As previously stated, it is your responsibility to obtain the notes and information about the material that was taught while you were absent, and you will not be excused from new material on any assessment. However, if you truly don’t feel prepared for the test, you may email me a request for more time and we will discuss to see if this is an option.
