† Grades are not given by the teacher, grades are earned by the student.
Each unit concludes with a unit test. [Typically one each month].
Unit tests are given on Wednesdays. *In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseeable event where the test cannot given, it will be occur during the next class meeting.
All unit tests are completed online, so students must bring a charged chromebook on test day.
Test dates are found both on Google Classroom and Genesis. *Dates are posted on the first day a unit begins.
A quiz may consist of between 3 and 10 questions.
A open-notebook quiz shall occur the day following notes being taken by students.
Other "pop" or "surprise" quizzes may occur in class at any time without prior notice.
*It is understood that students will be reading their notes each and every night. [Lecture notes, handouts, etc]
Any day-to-day classwork, lab activity, or homework.
Graded assignments have specific deadlines such as:
the end of the class period,
the next class meeting,
or some other date determined by the complexity of the assignment.
Internet assignments must be completed NO LATER than midnight of the assigned deadline.
Assignments will NOT be accepted more than one week following their deadline.
Assignments will NOT be given on days preceding weekends, holidays, or vacation.

*One point will be deducted each day a student is not prepared for class.
*One point will be deducted each day a student does not show effort during class.
**The maximum deduction is two points per day.
