Students are required to bring the following each day.
chromebook and its charger
notebook and folder [or 3-ring binder]
pen [blue or black ink only]
ear buds or headphones
Beginning each class, students MUST:
be seated in their assigned seat
have their notebook open with the topic and date written at the top of a new page
have any due assignment clearly visible on their desk and ready to be checked/collected
work on the posted 'Do Now' assignment
For the class to function at its best, the following guidelines must be followed:
come to class every day
arrive on time
follow directions and proper lab safety
remain on task
treat others with respect
learn something new
Failure to adhere to the above policies will result in the following actions in accordance with the VEM Student Handbook such as, but not limited to, the following.
1. verbal warning
2. teacher detention
3. removal from class
Students who are not in their assigned seats when then bell rings will be considered late.
Being late [without a valid pass] shall result in a 10-minute detention.
It is the responsibility of the student to make up any missed assignments due to a class absence. Refer to Google Classroom to locate any missed assignments.
For each day of an absence, students are given an equal number of days to make up any missed assignments.
Any assignments turned in or checked by the teacher are due at the beginning of the class period.
Internet assignments must be completed NO LATER than midnight of the assigned deadline.
Assignments that are not turned in on time, or are past the excused absence allowance for make-up work, will lose credit in the following progressive manner:
- by 3:15 pm on the day of its deadline ... loss of one letter grade (A → B), a 10% loss
- by the start of class the day following its deadline ... loss of three letter grades (A → C), a 30% loss
Assignments will NOT be accepted more than one week following their deadline.
*Assignments will NOT be accepted once they have been reviewed in class.
Students who are found copying, cheating, plagiarizing their work, or other academically dishonest behavior shall receive one or more of the following:
- no credit for that assignment,
- teacher detention,
- parent notification
