1:1 Initiative
Program Overview
All students will have the opportunity to obtain a Chromebook to use during the academic year while enrolled in Middlesex School District. The focus of the Chromebook initiative is to prepare students for their future in a world of digital technology and information. The individual use of Chromebooks is a way to empower students to learn at their full potential; to communicate and collaborate through analytical thinking and problem solving. Teachers are critical to the effective use of technology in the learning process. Therefore, we are providing a support structure to enable our teachers to learn about, implement and enhance meaningful integration of technology in instruction.
Vision
Students in Middlesex Borough Public Schools will utilize technology appropriately, safely and ethically to understand both the world and themselves, developing their capacity to learn, create and collaborate at high levels in our rapidly evolving world.
Goals
The Middlesex Borough Public School District wants to provide real-time access to technology and information allowing for anytime, anywhere learning. The district aims to increase student proficiency in creating, collaborating, communicating and critically thinking as digital citizens. Providing each of our students with a 1:1 environment beyond the walls of the classroom will provide our students with the tools to become creative, problem-solving leaders.
