Noumedynamic Health is built on a solid foundation with an in-depth understanding of health that has stood the test of time. Such as the central principles of healing put forth by Hippocrates, the founder of Western medicine in the 5th century BC.
Hippocrates described three directing principles of healing:
Vis Mediatrix Natura,
Similia Similibus Curentur and
Contraria Contraribus Curentur
These three principles propose a threefold approach to healthcare:
support natural processes in a general way,
support the unique expression of the organism, and
when all else fails, contain or restrict its reactions.
Each principle works with the life force in different but complementary ways. You will learn how to apply the application of the three principles appropriately, through examples, and learn how these three fundamental principles have evolved into three branches of modern medicine: Naturopathy, Homeopathy and Allopathy, respectively.
There is greater efficiency, more lasting solutions, satisfaction and personal fulfillment provided by the MICH Noumedynamic approach to health. There is also the gift of a continually deepening relationship with ourselves, the universe and each other as the interconnections of the web of life become more visible and pervasive.
I am Judyann McNamara, the founder of MICH. I have practiced Tai Chi and Qigong, Yoga, and energywork since the 1980s, and continue to do so today. These heath habits support the energetic framework on which holistic practice is based. In your future practice, you will be coaching your clients on daily practices that best support their organism.
In this course, you will explore how holistic practice is based on true healthcare, where the focus is on health and wholeness rather than disease. That might sound obvious, but the current medical paradigm is disease-focussed: current medical practice is more akin to "disease-care". Unfortunately, the disease-care perspective has seeped into naturopathy, herbology, and even most schools of homeopathy. This course will help you understand the difference, which is much greater than we often realize, and help you align with holism.
Hi, my name is Adam Fiore. Welcome to MICH and to this course: Noumedynamic Health. I will be your facilitator for your facilitation mentorship session where you will have the opportunity to explore the obstacles that arise whenever we embark on another part of our journey. I will also be answering your questions as you post them in the Forum. I encourage you to make use of these opportunities to allow these teachings and practices to come alive for you! There is always so much more to learn and discover.
I come to this course with a background as a MICH Homeopath and teacher in the MICH faculty. I am a long-time student of meditation and spiritual practices from various traditions. Currently, I am fascinated by the intersections between Buddhist philosophy and homeopathic medicine, and the opportunities for health that they provide. I also have a background in facilitation and education with various populations - addiction groups, spectrum disorders, women's groups - utilizing mindfulness, yoga therapy, movement therapy and principles from various wisdom traditions including traditional Chinese medicine.
As you will learn in the final Foundation Level course Discover Holism: wholeness, the central quality of Holism, implies a reality, system, or truth in which all parts or aspects are present in right and healthy relationship with each other. This right relationship -- or synergy -- is what makes the whole being "greater than the sum of its parts." Insight, rather than analysis is required to go to the core to see the parts in reference to the greater whole. When the essence is grasped through insight, all other aspects simply unfold from that understanding. The physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual issues are but different reflections of the same source. They are facets of the same diamond. They are the fine details of a much deeper underlying dimension, a dimension that is essential in the process of healing.
This course is about the practical considerations to make one's practice holistic, and integrating Holism into daily life. Inquiry, Insight, and knowing that disease and duality are but invitations to greater wholeness is the perspective that this course will help you develop. As in all MICH courses, there is a process of continually deepening relationship with ourselves, the universe, and each other as the interconnections of the web of life become more visible and pervasive. The philosophy and definition of Holism are found in the last Foundation course, Discover Holism.
MICH is a vehicle of holistic learning. We have been a leading-edge exploration of health, healing and the human embodiment of awareness offering leading-edge courses in the form of professional training for holistic professionals since 2005. Our courses are based on more than 25 years of holistic clinical practice and research.
Our courses are based on a UKD principle. Each course must offer a deeper, holistic and in-depth understanding (U) of the subject offered. Based on that understanding, knowledge (K) is imparted and integrated. With both the understanding and the required knowledge, the student is able to do (D) something different in their practice or lives.
