...Now What? is a virtual event organized by staff at MICA's Decker Library, Fleet Library at RISD, John M. Flaxman Library at SAIC, Godine Library at MassArt, and Alfred R. Goldstein Library at Ringling College of Art+Design. This virtual event is intended to provide library workers in the art and design field with a space to share our experiences shifting to new models of service after a year of remote or semi-remote work. We’ll begin with a panel discussion with our three speakers in conversation, in which they will have the opportunity to share what we learned about art and design research in 2020 and 2021: the good, the bad, and the ugly. What lessons can we take forward? Where is there no going back? Thereafter, we invite attendees to participate in breakout discussions.
This event is inspired by the unconference model. At an unconference, the participants determine the program. We invite you to share topics that you are interested in discussing with your peers and colleagues when you register for this event. Topics may relate to the ways that your work has been impacted, what strategies and modifications you have tested and implemented, how changes are being assessed for success and what the future may hold for your role, service or department.
Wednesday, March 23rd, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, CT virtual
The unconference will take place on the Gather platform. The team at Gather have generously agreed to sponsor our event and we're excited to host attendees in a virtual space that's built for both videoconferencing and fun! Learn more about using Gather here. More informational materials will be shared with registrants before the unconference.
You are welcome to attend all sessions free of charge!
