The results show that preload has the greatest influence on suction force, with increased preload improving contact and enhancing adhesion. In contrast, loading and unloading rates have minimal impact, indicating that adhesion remains consistent across different operating speeds. Overall, preload is the key factor controlling gripper performance.
Future work will investigate design variations of the suction cup to enhance suction performance
Long term: perform computer simulations on gripper designs to determine optimal designs for highest adhesion strength
