Throughout my research I furthered my communication skills by having to explain my research in verbal and written forms.
When I was actively researching in London, I had to use the different libraries and institutions databases to access the archives. Each had a different way and each artifact required a different way of handling. On one occasion, I had to access film reels and I used their special viewing device.
I furthered my professionalism during my research because my study abroad program where my research took place was very independent. I had to set my own goals and timelines to get done what I needed to in the short two week span I was in London. I also had to step out of my comfort zone and interact with a vast majority of people, where I displayed professionalism as well.
The WSPU was a complicated organization and when you are looking at artifacts, you are usually just looking at one piece of the puzzle. So during my research I furthered by critical thinking skills because I had to place all the artifacts together to form a story and timeline while also reading in between the lines and going down rabbit holes of further research to understand the full picture.
