Each site contains six 2 x 1 meter plots, three within L. maackii thickets and three under native forest canopy, for a total of 18 plots.
Species emergence, flowering, and fruiting dates were recorded. Additionally, the number of individual ephemerals flowering or fruiting was recorded daily.
Temperature, canopy coverage, and basal area of L. maackii were recorded at each site.
This is a multi-year study currently in the third spring of data collection.
