Rich has a passion for papaya trees and Pusheen the cat. His expansive areas of expertise comprise plant evolutionary biology, evolutionary genetics and genomics, sex-chromosome evolution, gene flow between wild and domesticated plants, and duplicate gene evolution, just to name a few.
Having graduated from Miami University in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and a minor in Horticulture, Allie came back to Oxford to cement her educational foundation in plant sciences. She finished the Botany undergraduate degree in May 2025 and will be furthering her education with the Horticulture & Crop Science MS program at The Ohio State University starting fall 2025. Allie's favorite botanical niches are tree health and fruit production.
A true jack of all trades, Becky is full of surprises. She is a Botany major with a focused interest in ecology and pollinator interactions. She will be continuing her education with the Botany graduate program at Miami University in fall of 2025. When she's not speciating insects, you can find her constructing retro dresses from scratch or shredding on Rock Band.
If plants could talk, they would ask this MU sophomore where she shops. "Ethereal forest fairy scientist" doesn't begin to describe Althaea's vibe. When she's not crocheting custom pieces, she enjoys hanging out with Ripley.
Leading with precision and thoughtful intention, Ripley is a sophomore Botany major co-majoring in Environmental Science. In the future, they hope to earn their Master's in Botany and explore further research. Their current projects involve the effects of Amur Honeysuckle and Lesser Celandine on spring ephemerals but they hope to develop thwir own project soon.
Having spent her summers working on a farm back home on the east coast, Eloise isn't afraid to get her hands dirty in the name of science. Also, she took Chinese and Organic Chemistry in the same semester, so she's pretty much unstoppable.
