ESRI , established in 1969, is the current leading GIS software company.
The core Introductory and Advanced GIS courses at Miami University use ESRI software.
Many faculty and staff also use the software for their own research and collaborative work with students
How to Log Into ArcGIS Online and ArcPro in computer labs and on your own computer:
Instructions for all Miami University students, faculty, and staff
Your log-in credentials are exactly the same as your Miami credentials (username and password)
This initial log-in will create your ArcGIS Online Account that can be accessed using these same instructions
This can be done from any computer with internet access.

ArcGIS Pro (ArcPro):
Launch ArcPro from the Desktop Shortcut or from the Start Menu (All Programs > ArcGIS > ArcGIS Pro > ArcGIS Pro)
Click on Sign In at the top right
You will sign in with "Your ArcGIS organization's URL"
That URL is "miamioh.maps.arcgis.com"
Click Continue

Type in "miamioh" to complete the Organizational URL
Click continue to see the images below for using your Miami unique id to log into the sofware
All Miami students, faculty, and staff may download and install ArcPro to a personal desktop or laptop windows machine with a 1 year educational use license.
Note: ArcPro can only install on a Windows Operating System (OS). If you have a Mac you have several options for installing and running the Windows OS on your Mac. One of those is to download and install Bootcamp (see next section below for link to instructions)
Follow the steps below to install ArcPro and .NET on your personal computer
Verify that you have a computer capable of running ArcPro (https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/arcgis-pro-system-requirements.htm)
IMPORTANT! Microsoft .NET 8.0 for later must be installed prior to installing ArcPro. The link to the correct version is on the ESRI systems requirements page linked above.
Go to this url: http://miamioh.maps.arcgis.com/
Click "Sign In" at the top right to log into Miami's ArcGIS Online Organization (AGOL)
(See the screenshots in the previous steps if you need a reminder on how to get logged in properly)
Navigate to your Personal Navigation links by clicking on your name/account at the top right of the web page
Click on My Settings
At the left, click on Licenses
You will see a listing for ArcGIS Pro with a download link
Click the Download link
Choose the most recent version of Pro and Click Download
Save this file somewhere you can find it later

You should follow the instructions for the “per-machine” installation (this is the default)
Take the default location for where the software will install
Your access to additional extensions for the software is automatically managed by the Organization.
You will automatically have access to Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst, 3D Analyst, and Geostatistical Analyst.
(Access to Business Analyst and Community Analyst are evaluated on a case by case basis. )
