Sarah's research focused on determining the frequency of choosy female behavior in African populations of D. melanogaster. Tessa's project examined potential sperm storage differences across populations of D. pseudoobscura
Katie Dykhuizen graduated with Department of Biology Honors (in addition to other honors) for completing her Honors Thesis titled "Co-evolution and local selection shape reproductive gene diversity and divergence".
Dean published a paper on how reinforcement and migration shape sperm competition phenotypes and genomic divergence
Several undergraduates in the lab presented their research at the 2025 Undergraduate Research Forum. Arushi and Yijia presented posters while Katie presented a research talk
In Fall 2024 we welcomed Astrid Rodriguez Leon to the lab as a masters student.
In Spring 2025 semester we are welcoming undergraduate researchers Savanah Grabel and Ashlynn Connely to the lab (co-advised with Deidra Jacobsen).
