Communication
Through this process, we had to learn how to communicate biology related ideas with student looking for extra help and practice with the concepts. This improved our ability to teach and communicate often complex science ideas to a desired audience.Â
Leadership
Through this process, we each lead our own review sessions covering the cell biology topics depicted in the course. This taught us useful leadership skills. We learned how to control an audience, help others learn, and guide others through strong study practices.
Teamwork
As a team, we analyzed if student learning was greater through weekly studying rather than just studying before exams. We set up a method of scoring worksheets to see if students had growth in their knowledge of gene expression over time. We also worked together to analyze flaws that may be causing students to not remember essential topics and how we could find ways to implement said topics into guided review sessions.
