Interested in joining the MI/AIR Steering Committee? The current steering committee will be reviewing nominations from this year's conference. This is a three-year term beginning in December 2024.

What to expect? Here are a few things to consider before joining the committee:
Time Commitment:
Generally, monthly to bi-monthly meetings held virtually (about an hour or two per month).
Additional time, outside of meetings, per Steering Committee assignments
Attendance at the MI/AIR Annual Conference from Wednesday morning through Friday afternoon
Financial Commitment from your institution:
Occasional travel for a site visit once per year

Michelle Stando
Schoolcraft College
Michelle Stando has proudly served Schoolcraft College for 15 years. As the Director of Data Strategy and Effectiveness at Schoolcraft College, she leads the charge in collecting, analyzing, reporting, and leveraging data to shape the institution’s strategic decision-making processes. With a focus on delivering valuable insights to support strategic objectives, Michelle's work revolves around transforming complex data into actionable recommendations.
Michelle holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Psychology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, as well as an MBA in Leadership, Organizational Change & Strategy from Wayne State University and a certificate in market research from the University of Georgia. Her passion for lifelong learning resonates with Einstein's famous quote, "The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know." This belief fuels her advocacy for continuous growth.
Outside of work, Michelle finds joy in spending time with her husband and three young boys, engaging in outdoor activities, and pursuing personal interests, finding solace and inspiration in the great outdoors.
Dana Cogswell
Lansing Community College
Dana Cogswell currently serves as the Director of Institutional Research at Lansing Community College (LCC). In her role at LCC, she is responsible for mandatory state and federal reporting including reporting related to Perkins, IPEDS, and CEPI/STARR. In addition, she provides data to the campus community to strengthen academic programming and to monitor and improve student success outcomes. In addition to serving on the Mi/AIR steering committee, Dana is a member of the Michigan Community College Data and Evaluation Committee (MCCDEC). Dana is also the Chair of the Michigan Community College Collaborative for Accountability, Research, and Effectiveness (MCCCARE), a committee of institutional researchers from 28 community colleges in Michigan formed to understand reporting requirements with a goal of improving data consistency across the state. She has participated in various workgroups with both LEO and CEPI staff to develop or provide feedback for reporting instructions.
Marv Noltze
UW Stevens Point
Marv is the Senior Institutional Planner at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Major responsibilities include compliance reporting, managing campus enrollment data, analytics, and supporting campus initiatives. He has been with three institutions in the UW system since 2010. He has a graduate certificate in IR from Florida State University. What he enjoys most from IR work is seeing decisions flowing from sound data.
