Call for Proposals

Greetings MI/AIR Members!

The 2026 MI/AIR Steering Committee has been hard at work preparing our 40th Annual Conference. The 2026 Conference will be held November 4-6 at Park Place Hotel in Traverse City, Michigan.  At this time, we are announcing the launch of our Call for Presentations.  We hope you will consider presenting at this year’s conference.

Last year, we had a schedule filled with high-quality presentations and we would love to see the same for 2026!  We invite you to submit a proposal for this year’s conference and share your expertise with the Institutional Research (IR) community.

We welcome presentation proposals on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

• Research findings in IR, planning, or assessment

• Data collection and analysis tools or methodologies

• Dashboards and data visualization techniques

• The role of IR in strategic planning

• Effective practices in data governance and quality assurance

• Applications of artificial intelligence in IR

• IR's role in connecting people and systems

• Any other topic relevant to the field of Institutional Research
  
  

The deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, June 19, 2026.
Applicants will be notified of the committee's decisions by the end of July.

We are also excited to announce that the winner of this year's Best Presentation Award will be eligible for a $1,000 Travel Grant to attend and present at the 2027 AIR Forum. We look forward to your submissions and to another year of engaging, impactful presentations!

Our 2026 conference will begin Wednesday afternoon, November 4, with a pre-conference workshop.  Thursday will be a full day of breakout sessions followed by a half-day of sessions on Friday. 

The chosen theme for our conference this year is ‘40 Years: Foundation to the Future - Connecting People and Ideas to Shape What’s Next’.

More specific details about the conference schedule and conference registration will be emailed in early August.
