National Inventors Hall of Fame Summer Internships
Volunteer to be a STEM Camp Inventor right here in Montrose at Oak Grove Elementary School on June 1-5, 2020 from 9:00am-3:30pm. Designed exclusively for high school students, our Leadership Intern program reinvents summer volunteer programs. Leadership Interns work closely with Camp Invention® and Invention Project® participants to help them explore STEM concepts and become creative thinkers who can invent a better tomorrow. Altrusa Luncheon
Student Volunteers Needed
Students interested in serving at the Altrusa Spring Luncheon on Saturday, March 28th starting around 11 o'clock, please sign up in the MHS PoWeR Center.
Salvation Army
Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to ring bells for the Salvation Army buckets. If you need some volunteer hours, please contact Ross Turner at 970-596-7590
Crab Crack
Help the Boys and Girls Club at the Crab Crack on Friday, November 16th from 5:00-10:00pm at the Montrose Pavilion. You will be assisting the chef and serving trays of crab, shrimp and sausages with other foods and drinks to the tables family style. You will also help bus tables and clean up after the event. You usually get to eat the leftovers. Sign up in the PoWeR Center.
Election Judging at the Polls
The city of Montrose is hoping to get some Montrose High School students involved as Election Judges in the 2019 and 2020 Colorado Elections. If you are interested in volunteering October 28th-November 5th during polling hours, please contact Cristy Lynn Sulewski@ 970-252-4555
Montrose County partners with justserve.org to coordinate all of the volunteer efforts in Montrose County. They have posted several new volunteer opportunities on the site and all you need to do is go to www.justserve.org to the Sign Up as a Volunteer. Students can go to the Project Tab and put in Montrose to find what kinds of projects are accepting volunteers before they click on the Sign Up link. It is very simple and then you will see the listings of our Volunteer needs in the County.
MCSD Campus CleanUP
Student volunteers are needed for working on the grounds at the Montrose Elementary Schools. There may also be other duties as assigned, such as helping pick up trash, moving mulch, etc. The event will be in two shifts 9am - 12 noon and 1pm - 4pm, and students can sign up for as many shifts as they want. Sign up in the MHS PoWeR Center.
Johnson Elementary School
STEM Night Volunteers
Johnson Elementary School is having a STEM night on March 12 from 5-6 and they need high school student volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to fulfill your community service hours requirement, contact Kim Martin 970-249-2584 Ext. 3144 or email kimberly.martin@mcsd.org
Kindergarten Carnival Volunteers
Volunteers needed April 30th in hourly shifts from 12pm–7pm to help with Kindergarten Carnival. Student volunteers for Kindergarten Carnival will be running fun stations for young kids as well as other duties as assigned, such as helping direct parent traffic, etc. Students can sign up for as many shifts as they want. Montrose Marlins is looking for volunteers for the swim meet this weekend January 25-26, and would like to offer community service hours to MHS students. Snacks and drinks will be provided for the 2 hour minimum shift.
They need help with timing and concessions. They have afternoon sessions on Saturday and morning sessions on Sunday, and you can work as much or as little as you want. The contact for the community service hours is Linh Radovich @ 970-417-9107.

Students, if you enjoy working with younger children, then sign up to volunteer for a non-profit mom to mom group in Montrose. If you are available during this time because of academic preps, then sign up for volunteer hours in the PoWeR Center or visit the link below. Program meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 8:45-11:10am during the school year.
Montrose Community Thanksgiving Dinner
The Montrose Community hosts the Thanksgiving Dinner at Friendship Hall every year. They are hoping to feed 2000 community members, again this year. To volunteer for this event, visit their website: www.montrosecommunitydinners.com
