The teaching system in the University of Northern Philippines Laboratory School (UNP-LS) is different from the teaching system in Indonesia. For Senior High School, UNP has 2 grades, grade 11 and grade 12. In grade 11 Indonesia, the students have to take subjects around 12 subjects for a semester. The subjects are different for each class as the class major. The teaching system used in grade 11 UNP-LS is the class takes 8 subjects and every Monday until Thursday the students learn about 8 subjects. For mathematics, divided into 2 subjects, general mathematics and pre-calculus. 

In Indonesia a subject have each portion of study session, which in a study session they have 40 minutes. As example for grade 11 in Indoesia they have to take 4 study session in mathematics. It is divided in two days, only two study sessions for a day. They have 4 subjects from morning until the lunch break and 4 subjects after the lunch break. And for Friday they do not have the class like in Monday until Thursday, they only have Physical Education and Homeroom.
