DALLIASAT
The DALLIASAT Program (Developing Awareness of the Life and Language of Ilocanos among Southeast Asian Teachers) is a cultural immersion activity organized by the University of Northern Philippines. This program is designed to introduce international students, particularly participants of the SEA-Teacher Project, to the rich culture, traditions, language, and daily life of the Ilocano community in Northern Luzon.

Kapurpurawan Rock Formation

Malacanang Of The North
The Malacañang of the North is a historic presidential residence located in the municipality of Paoay in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The mansion served as the official residence of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos whenever he visited his home province.
The residence was built in 1977 during the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos and was designed to resemble the grandeur of the main presidential palace, Malacañang Palace in Manila. The mansion reflects a blend of traditional Filipino architectural elements and modern design, featuring large rooms, wide verandas, and spacious halls that overlook the lake. Because of its location and design, the building provides both historical significance and picturesque scenery. After the end of Marcos’ presidency, the Malacañang of the North was later converted into a museum. Today, it houses a collection of historical exhibits that highlight the life, political career, and legacy of Ferdinand Marcos. Visitors can explore several rooms inside the mansion that display photographs, personal belongings, memorabilia, and documents related to the Marcos family and Philippine political history.
Paoay Church
Paoay Church, officially known as the Saint Augustine Church (Paoay), is one of the most iconic historical and religious landmarks in the Philippines. Located in the town of Paoay in the province of Ilocos Norte, the church is widely admired for its distinctive architectural style and its long historical significance. The construction of Paoay Church began in 1694 under the supervision of Spanish Augustinian missionaries and was completed in 1710. It was built during the Spanish colonial period and has served as an important center of Catholic faith for the local community for more than three centuries. Because of its historical, cultural, and architectural value, the church was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 as part of the group known as the Baroque Churches of the Philippines.

This design was developed to withstand the frequent earthquakes that occur in the region. The church is supported by massive buttresses—large stone supports that line the sides and back of the building. Baccara Bell Tower

This centuries-old structure stands beside the historic Saint Andrew the Apostle Church and serves as an important symbol of the town’s cultural and religious heritage.

It was built primarily from coral stones and bricks, which were commonly used construction materials during that time. The structure was designed as a separate bell tower rather than being attached directly to the church building, a typical architectural feature found in many historic churches in the northern Philippines.
