Hello and welcome!
My name is Oryza Aaqilah Deandy Putri, and I am from Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. I am currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at Universitas Negeri Surabaya, majoring in Elementary School Teacher Education.
Choosing to study elementary education was driven by my passion for working with young learners and contributing to their foundational years of growth. I believe that teaching at the primary level is not only about delivering subject matter, but also about shaping character, nurturing curiosity, and building confidence. For me, a classroom is a space where knowledge meets empathy, creativity, and inspiration.
One of the most transformative chapters of my journey was teaching at the Laboratory School of University of Northern Philippines in the Northern Philippines. This international teaching experience allowed me to step beyond my comfort zone and embrace a new educational environment. Standing in front of students from a different cultural background challenged me to adapt my teaching strategies, communicate more effectively, and become more reflective as an educator.
In the end, teaching abroad was not just about sharing knowledge, it was about discovering new perspectives, embracing differences, and growing beyond my own limits. This journey in the Northern Philippines has shaped me into a more courageous, compassionate, and reflective future educator. And this is only the beginning.
