*Friday - We are having a 9:00 Fire Drill with the EP Fire Dept.                                                              *Remember to bring in 10 leaves of different sizes and shapes.

Thursday, Oct. 1st - Happy October! Bring in 10 leaves tomorrow!! 

Reading

Find a book at home and read for 15/20 minutes. Record your reading!  An October reading list will come home tomorrow.

Spelling

Complete both sides of the spelling sheet. Read the directions carefully! The spelling test is tomorrow. 

Math

Complete the Performance Task math sheet. We will have a chapter test tomorrow on Chapter 1 concepts.

Wednesday, Sept. 30th - The kids had a fun day!! Have them tell you about it!

Reading

Read the leveled reader coming home. Talk about the problem in the story and how it is solved. You can also look for this week's H.F. words and "l" blend words.

*Some students still need to hand in a Sept. reading sheet. 

Math

Complete both sides of the sheet on facts for 8 & 10.

Science

We had fun today making an apple trapper. Have your child tell you about it. They were thinking like an inventor.

Tuesday, Sept. 29th - Work folders are coming home with a Scholastic flyer if you are interested in getting books for your child.

Religion

Complete both sides of the Chapter 3 test. Use your religion book if needed.

Reading/Phonics

Read the story Flip in the Reader and talk about what is the problem and how it is solved. Look for this week's H.F. words and any "l" blend words in the story.

Spelling

Practice this week's spelling words.

Math

Complete the sheet on true and false math statements. Make sure to read the directions!

Monday, Sept. 28th 

Reading - This week's essential questions are:  What pets do you know about? What are they like?

This week we will work on identifying plot. What is the problem in the story and how is it solved? Tonight read the Get Ready story Come Down, Flag! and learn the new H.F. words. They are:  come, down, good, pull. Review all the other H.F. words on the green paper in the zippered bag.

Phonics

We will still work on short a and short i while learning the "l" blends. They are bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, sl.

Spelling

Go over the pretest and study/practice any incorrect words for Friday's test.

Math - EQ - How do I add numbers?

Tonight complete the page on identifying true and false statements.

*We will have the Chapter 1 test on addition concepts on Friday.

Religion

We will work on finishing Chapter 3, learning about Guardian Angels, and St. Francis.           *Oct. 2nd is Feast of Guardian Angels.                                                                                              *Oct. 4th Feast of St. Francis - there is a pet blessing on Sunday at 1:00 at Sexton Park.

Science

We will continue with apples, learn about our new season fall, and talk about leaves.
