Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to a wonderful new school year! My name is Jennifer Jurasits, and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year.
Teaching is a true lifelong passion of mine—I love teaching and learning from my heart always! I have had the privilege of serving students and families in the Archdiocese of Chicago for 38 years. Catholic education is deep in my roots, and that dedication seems to run in the family—my husband and I have two children, and my daughter is officially following in my footsteps! She is beginning her very first year of teaching this fall as a 3rd-grade math teacher. "Like mother, like daughter" has never felt more accurate or proud for me.
Outside the classroom, I am a huge animal lover! Our home is a full house with 5 dogs, 2 cats, a turtle, and a snake. You can ask your kiddos if they know all of their names!
My goal every year is to create a classroom environment where your child feels safe, valued, inspired, and challenged to grow academically and spiritually. Mistakes are completely embraced in our classroom space. I want children to learn and grow from their mistakes, as this productive struggle is truly how we gain deep understanding and resilience.
Open communication between home and school is essential to a successful year, so please never hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or updates about your child.
