 This page is dedicated to the summer assignments for students enrolled in AP Language and Composition at 

Morris Hills High School and Morris Knolls High School.

As we approach our study of rhetoric and persuasive writing in AP English Language and Composition, this summer assignment will immerse you in both theoretical and practical applications of rhetorical strategies. Through careful reading of Jay Heinrichs' "Thank You For Arguing" and analysis of two historically significant texts from the Civil Rights Movement, you will develop a sophisticated understanding of how language shapes discourse, influences audiences, and creates lasting social change.
